Upcoming Events:

This November marks the third annual Kid's Pear Extravaganza!

This year's Pear Extravaganza will be held at November 28 at the Wood Creek Pavilion. Events will begin at 8 a.m.

 

Projected schedule of events:

8 a.m.-welcome address by the Ottawa County's Mayor John Hutchinson

8 15 a.m.-free breakfast of pancakes, biscuits, sausage or bacon, eggs and fruit (parents welcome!!!)

8:45 a.m.- pear toss

9:30 a.m.- coloring contest

10 a.m.-pear decorating (with prizes for creativity)

10:30 a.m.-pie eating contest--yummy!

Local Pear News

    According to Pear County Agricultural Extension Agent Brent Boswell, this season's weather is expected to be prime for pear production.
    Thanks for the good news, Mr. Boswell!   

     Pearfect FFA Chapter gave an informative pear nutrition presentation to to Miss Crumb's first grade class Friday, Nov. 14.
    After speaking, students were allowed to ask nutrition-related questions and participate in a pear decorating contest.  
    Miss Crumb said the event was a big success!
