News Brief Lab

Create a mock-up news brief about the agricultural topic you used in the research brief lab. Include the following components in your news brief.

  1. News briefs are concise, no more than one short paragraph.
  2. Your paragraph must be of "immediate interest" to readers.
  3. Use catchy opening phrases that grab the readers' attention, making them want to read the whole story.
  4. News briefs are limited to the "who, what, when, where, and why" style of writing.
  5. Use double-spacing, with similar formatting, as was used in the press release.
Save the information from this lab to your jump drive. Send the results of this lab to your instructor and teaching assistant as an e-mail attachment (don't forget the lab name in your e-mail subject line) when completed.

Ask your instructor to check this assignment BEFORE leaving the lab.
Refer to the multiple agricultural communications' examples for more information.

If any of the above information is incorrect, or needs to be updated, contact Gary J. Wingenbach.
