Research Brief Lab

Create a mock-up research brief about an agricultural topic. Search the Internet for relevant information on your topic and include the following components in your research brief (one page only).

  1. Graphic across the top of the page.
  2. An interesting title, followed by your full name and university affiliation (single column).
  3. Begin a double-column narrative (you may find much of this from your Internet search; I don't expect you to conduct an intensive review during one lab). Include the following headings in your columns:
    • Introduction - a short paragraph explaining your topic.
    • Advantages, or a similar heading.
    • Disadvantages, or similar heading showing contrast from the previous heading.
    • Conclusions - what is your assessment of this brief search about your agricultural topic.
    • References - include all the Internet sites, using APA citation style, in this section.
  4. Include bulleted lists, where appropriate in this assignment.
  5. Include a footer with your complete contact information, and a research brief number.

If you are unsure about creating a Word document with columns, headers, and footers, you will want to view (maybe even download and save a copy) the Template File.

Save the information from this lab to your jump drive. Send the results of this lab to your instructor and teaching assistant as an e-mail attachment (don't forget the lab name in your e-mail subject line) when completed.

Ask your instructor to check this assignment BEFORE leaving the lab.
Refer to the multiple agricultural communications' examples for more information.

If any of the above information is incorrect, or needs to be updated, contact Gary J. Wingenbach.
