TAMU Library Search Lab

Using one of the online agricultural databases, accessible from the TAMU Library, locate two articles (written within the past five years) by Dr. James R. Lindner (as lead author) from two different research journals. Once you have located two articles, determine why the journals are considered research journals (hint: check the journal's publishing information, usually located on the inside front cover or as a hyperlink on its Web site). Then, use the copy-and-paste function to create and send an e-mail note to your instructor and teaching assistant with the following information for each article:

  • All authors' names in addition to Dr. Lindner's for each article

  • Full titles for each article

  • Full names for each journal

  • Publishing information (indicating it is a research journal)

  • Volume numbers, issue numbers, and dates of publication for each article

  • Exact page numbers for each article

  • Location for each journal (Give specific location in Evans Library. What is each journal's Web address?)

Save the information from this lab to your jump drive. Send the results of this lab to your instructor and teaching assistant as an e-mail note (don't forget the lab name in your e-mail subject line) when completed.

For more information, go to Conducting Literature Searches.
Make sure the instructor checks this assignment BEFORE you leave the lab.

If any of the above information is incorrect, or needs to be updated, contact Gary J. Wingenbach.
