Assume you are about to graduate and are looking for your first job. You found a specific position that is available in your field and will write an invited letter of application. The position announcement indicates that a résumé should accompany the letter of application.
Write your letter of application and include an appropriate résumé for the specific position.
- Find a job announcement that is currently available in your field (must have a closing date past the due date of this assignment).
- Follow the guidelines for writing an invited letter of application as discussed in class, including:
- The position title.
- Where you found the position announcement.
- The correct name for your degree.
- Your qualifications for the position.
- Why you want to work for them.
- A reference to your résumé.
- Include a copy of your résumé with the letter (do not staple them together).
- Include a copy of the position announcement.
- Remember to print the letter and résumé on high-quality paper using a laser printer.
