Multiple Forms of Agricultural Communications

Student Products

Most Texans dislike the red imported fire ant. Personally, I do not know of one single redeeming factor for their existence on my property. I found the following multiple forms of agricultural communications about fire ant eradication very interesting. These media products provide excellent examples of differing levels of agricultural media used to inform various audiences. Can you determine who the main audience is for each type of media listed below? Use four of the six (Research Brief, Fact Sheet, Press Release, News Brief) media types listed below as an example of what you produce for your agricultural product or service.
  1. Research Brief: Dr. Charles Barr's Fire Ant Research (2004 Proceedings)
  2. Fact Sheet: DuPont™ Advion™ Fire Ant Bait (03-2005)
  3. Press Release: Mr. Robert Burns' New Fire Ant Control... (06-15-2005)
  4. News Brief: AHN: Global news for the digital world
