Much of what you produce in your assignments for this class (and others), depends upon a basic understanding of what materials you can or cannot use from other sources. As such, you need to complete the following steps to acquire a basic understanding of copyright, fair use, public domain, plagiarism, and citation.

1. Read Dr. Kyle McCaskill's article, Copyright and Libel Primer for Web and Print Publishers.
2. After reading the article, download the Copyright Primer Quiz.
3. Answer all the questions.
4. Bring the hardcopy of your quiz to the second class meeting.
5. Review the Copyright and Libel Primer for Web and Print Publishers occasionally to refresh your memory about these important topics.
