at Texas A&M University

Ms. Ruthie Boring is a Texas A&M graduate ('88) and Marketing Consultant for The Eagle in Bryan, Texas. Ms. Boring is an active member of many professional organizations, including the Brazos Business Club. Ms. Boring has been in sales and marketing with The Eagle since 2001.

Ms. Brenda Carlson is a Texas A&M Agricultural Journalism graduate ('92) and SW Regional Public Affairs Specialist for the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) Legislative/Public Affairs, headquartered in College Station, Texas at the Texas FSA State Office.

Ms. Ronda Adams is a Texas A&M Agricultural Journalism graduate ('92) and Program Specialist in the Common Management/Price Support Division for the Texas FSA State Office.

Mr. Jim Jennings, Texas A&M Agricultural Journalism graduate ('68) and American Quarter Horse Association Executive Director of Publications, explains the importance of lifelong learning in a long and successful career.

The American Quarter Horse Association features several well-known publications including America's Horse, The American Quarter Horse Journal, and The American Quarter Horse Racing Journal.


Mr. Todd Carroll is a Texas A&M graduate ('77) and Account Executive for KBTX-TV in Bryan, Texas. Mr. Carroll started working at KBTX-TV as a production assistant in 1973. In the late 1970's he became a production manager and entered into a sales career in the early 1980's. Currently, Mr. Carroll sells and produces commercials, but he is most noted for his production of From the Ground Up and Computers 101. From the Ground Up, won the Excellence in Journalism Award for television markets of 50,000 or more, from the Texas Farm Bureau in 2000.

Ms. Vicki Lambert is a University of Houston graduate ('00) and Editor of The Brahman Journal in Hempstead, Texas. Ms. Lambert owned and operated her own equine business from 1980 to 1995. She purchased The Brahman Journal in the summer of 2002. Since 2002, the Journal's circulation has increased, a Web site was developed and launched, and various print media were created to promote the Brahman breed. The Brahman Journal is read in 48 countries.

 

 

Dr. Ellen Ritter is professor and head of Agricultural Communications for The Texas A&M University System Agriculture Program. Since 1995, Dr. Ritter has provided leadership for the unit’s award-winning work in news and public affairs, marketing, and educational materials development in support of the multi-agency, statewide Agriculture Program.

Prior to joining the A&M System, Dr. Ritter spent ten years as a faculty member at the University of Illinois and the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she held a joint appointment in the Department of Speech Communication and University Extension. She holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in speech communication from Indiana University.

Ms. Beverly Moseley is a University of Florida Agricultural Communications graduate ('01) and Editor of the Land & Livestock Post at The Eagle in Bryan, Texas. The Land & Livestock Post is a monthly agricultural newspaper with its own subscription list of over 15,000 subscribers. Ms. Moseley is a contributing reporter for The Eagle. In 2002, Ms. Moseley moved home to Texas to begin working with the Land & Livestock Post.
